Carolyn was born and raised on a tobacco farm in Johnston County. She married a fellow Johnstonian, James Sherrill Young, who retired after 33 years as an over-the-road truck driver. Carolyn and Sherrill raised 2 daughters, now grown with children of their own, and in their spare time, Carolyn and Sherrill devote their attention to their 2 grandsons. Carolyn is an avid reader. She loves her family, fine country living, her job and helping people in general.
Professional
Carolyn began working in the insurance industry in 1966 and specialized in Workers’ Comp after 1985. She has Workd with both insurance companies and servicing third party administrators as a licensed investigative adjuster processing reported on-the-job injuries, evaluating claims for compensability and following medical treatment of the injured Worker until the claim was ready for resolution. For more than 18 combined years, Carolyn has Workd professionally with Attorney Nancy White on cases as an adjuster from the insurance company and now as a certified paralegal and member of Attorney White’s Workers’ Compensation team.
During the course of her career, Carolyn has attended continuing education courses on varied topics to maintain current credentials. Specifically, since 2003 while working with White & Stradley, LLP, she has attended local and national Workers’ Compensation seminars enhancing her overall Workers’ Compensation knowledge bringing further expertise to the firm’s claim handling.
